This is for a "red carpet" wedding - the bridesmaids are wearing "little black dresses" as if going to a movie premier. I ordered a 7/8 for my daughter who wears size 7 slim jeans and can still wear size 6 skirts and shirts at times. It is a little bit high-waisted in design and EXTREMELY itchy inside - you'll want to get her a full slip. I didn't like that the picture didn't show a back view - it said it had a tie back and I was picturing the treatment at the waist just continuing around - no luck. It's a stringy tie, doesn't look "gorgeous" from the back. The front, however, is to die for. On my 7 year old it is tea-length.The dress is beautiful and my daughter loves it. The only downside is the outer layer of material attracts strings and lint and holds onto them. Also, if your child is skin sensitive, this might not be the best choice as the upper part of dress is covered in sequins which look great but do come in contact with under arms a bit. My daughter mentioned it, but she is not the kind of kid who is very sensitive to fabricsI just received this dress yesterday, and as pretty as it looks online, it was especially pretty on my granddaughter. The black sequins on the bodice sparkle and shine, and the deep red flower at the waist, on top of the tulle gives the dress a timeless beauty and elegance. My granddaughter was really excited when she saw the dress on herself. The workmanship on the dress is first class. I highly recommend this dress for any little girl who has a special occasion to attend, or who simply wants to feel like a princess.I ordered this dress in a size 8 for my wedding in September 2014 for my daughter who is a size 5/6 now. The dress is beautiful, but the size runs REALLY small...It came in a size 7/8 and it looks like a size 5 so she could wear it now if it were not so cold here. I did decide to return it, but it is a really pretty dress otherwise.Fits nicely but little pricey. Love the cut and sequin but feel like the tulle could've been a little better quality for the price. Perfect for my daughters Halloween costume and definatley again for holiday party!I think this would look great on a 1-4 yr old, but for a 6.5 year old it looks a bit too much like it was pulled from the dress up clothes...the bodice hits high and it's just below the knees on our 6.5 year old...it did fit, but the cut wasn't right for her height.We did a bit of measuring before ordering this dress, so I was fairly confident it would be right. It fit well, looks great...just what the doctor ordered. The flower is a pin, I was pleasantly surprised to find out, so she will be a bridesmaid without the flower and do a recital with the flower - two dresses in one! Thanks, we love it.Dress is darling. Perfect for my daughters Valentine dance. Her only complaint was that the sequins really bothered her underneath her arms. Other than that it was perfect.
